Lavender Town
Monday, August 5, 2013 // back to top?
Yesterday I watched the Pokemon 2000: Pikachu Rescue Adventure.
After watching I went on a adventure in Youtube--by clicking on related video.
Then I found this Lavender Town.
I clicked on it and listened to a music with the headphone on.
The music was so creepy that I threw away the headphone.
I didn't finish listening because the music gives me the chill.
It's a background music in the Lavender Town of the Pokemon game
In the video, it explains that some people used a "special software" to analyze the audio of Lavender Town's music.
When played, the software created images of the Unknown which spells the word "LEAVE NOW".
I went to Google search Lavender Town and found out that it's called "Lavender Town Tone" or "Lavender Town Syndrome".
This Lavender Town's music contains high frequency pitch and clicks.
The music was also made with Binaural Beats where different frequency is heard by different side of the ear, creating a mixed up noise.
The extremely high frequencies was said to be heard only by children and young teens, since their ears are more sensible.
The most shocking thing was many children were sick after listening to this music.
And rumors says that some even committed suicide--cannot say it's 100% true.
After the Lavender Tone incident, the programmers had fixed Lavender Town's theme music to be at a lower frequency.
Then it no longer affects the children.
When I went deeper research, I found out an article that states that
Lavender Town Syndrome is actually part of an urban legend about a creepy tune in Japan’s initial run of Pokemon Red/Green for the Game Boy.
So in the end it was just a legend.
Haiz...so much for my recearch
But the music sure freaks me out!
